PTO Events
The PTO sponsors a number of events for Ashland's school children and the community in general throughout the year. Check the PTO Master Calendar for this month's events, as well as future scheduling. Keep in mind that we're always adding new events to the calendar. See details for current and previous events by clicking on the list at the left or on the underlined links below.
Amazing Hero Art with Rob Surette
One of our favorite Enrichment programs comes to prime time! Come see amazing portrait artist Rob Surette, and stay for ice cream after the show.
The Harlem Wizards
The Harlem Wizards are one of the greatest basketball show-team organizations to ever "lace it up and let 'em fly." Be prepared to see teachers, administrators, town personnel, Varsity High School basketball players, and quite possibly, your neighbors challenge the Wizards to a night of fun and excitement. We have a tentative date for this year's Wizards Family Night, March 21, 2009. See photos from previous years. And see The Wizards website at www.harlemwizards.com.
Autumn Festival
Eight hundred attendees enjoyed the Autumn Festival at the new Ashland High School last year. This year we hope to top that! This year the Autumn Festival will be held on Oct. 17, 2009, 10 am - 2 pm at the Warren School. There will be raffles for very cool prizes, the Kids Room, and other new and fun activities. Stay tuned for more information and be on the lookout for flyers!
Iron Chef
The inaugural Iron Chef cook-off event was a tremendous success. Six hundred and fifty attendees enjoyed great food prepared by dualing contestants AHS Principal Mike Tempesta and Mindess Assistant Principal Steve Baroni. Steve took the trophy home to Mindess in 2009, but we look forward to a rematch next year!
Joe Sallins Duo and Ice Cream Social
The family concert and ice cream social have become a favored event. In 2007 Cold Stone Creamery was on hand serving up their own blends of ice cream, providing time for everyone to socialize after the musical performance and meet the band members.
Mardi Gras Night Fundraiser
The PTO held the original Mardi Gras event four years ago at the Memorial Hall in Framingham. It was a very successful event, and many people asked us to repeat it. Mardi Grad Night was held at Memorial Hall in Framingham on March 3, 2007. It was a fun night full of great food and drinks, music, dancing and non-monetary gambling, with prizes for top ticket winners.
